RULES

Each Competitor

 1.  To be 16 or over on the day.  Under 16s are permitted if accompanied by an adult on the walk and MUST be accompanied throughout the walk at all times. (ADULTS are persons aged 18yrs or over)

 2.  WILL WEAR OR CARRY THE FOLLOWING:-  Waterproof Top with Hood, Hat and Gloves, Waterproof Leggings. If shorts are worn trousers must be carried (NO JEANS). O.S.Map of the North York Moors, Western Area. (NO PHOTO COPIES). Silva type compass. Torch with spare bulb and batteries. Whistle. Simple 1st Aid Kit. Survival Bag or Space Blanket. Mug. There will be spot checks.

 IF YOU ARE FOUND NOT TO HAVE ALL THE ITEMS IN RULE 2 YOU WILL BE   STOPPED FROM COMPETING AND TAKEN BACK TO H.Q. NO EXCUSES CONSIDERED.

 3.  Report to H.Q. between 07:00 and 08:30am for walkers and runners for registration and kit check.

 4.  Retire only at roadside checkpoints and on doing so hand in your tallies and wait for transport back to H.Q. On NO account leave the checkpoint until your transport arrives.

 5.  You will be retired on arriving at Danby Lodge AFTER 18:00hrs  NO IFS OR BUTS!!!

 6.  Scouts or Venture Scouts entering as Scouts P.O.R. applies in addition to all other rules.

 7.  Walking boots must be worn to claim the walkers prize.

 8   You must observe the country code at all times.

 9.  You will be disqualified if you lose your tally or fail to visit all the checkpoints in the right order.  Or fail to meet any spot checks throughout the event.

 10. YOU MUST KEEP TO RIGHTS OF WAY AT ALL TIMES. 

 11. THE ORGANISERS DECISION IS FINAL ON ALL ASPECTS OF THE WALK OR RULES.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times, anyone not doing so will be disqualified
